This Week's New Mostly-Not-Beer Labels:
Powered by the prospect of Malort Mlíko and a lot of footnotes for some reason
In an indication of where the American brewing scene is heading, less than half of the labels I’m showing you this week are from for actual beers. And nearly all of them are “from” breweries.
Which is just another reason that I’m happy that this new helles lager is…
The New Illinois Beer Label of the Week:
If you weren’t already planning a trip to STL’s Little Lager bar/taproom1, perhaps this collaboration between Millpond Brewing and Jeppson’s Malort might motivate you? I’ve had a handful of Malort-barrel-aged beers in the past (all at FoBAB) but this might be the first to ever make it to a package format. Fun stuff.
Though … given the name, I can’t help but think what this would be like in a mlíko pour from a Lukr handle. A whole glass of Malort-lager foam? Very intrigued by the possibilities here.
Up next for our Premium Subscribers: Our very first hard ice cream label from a brewery. Seriously. And a bunch of other stuff too, but yeah, hard ice cream. That’s where we’re at.
Premium Subscribers get access to all these labels plus exclusive posts, social updates on Friday, access to our back catalog and our gratitude for helping to keep these emails coming out.
