Hi, friends — happy Blackout Wednesday aka Drinksgiving to all who celebrate. (Did you know that the Wikipedia entry for today actually references Chicago suburbs? TIL.)

I’m about to hop into the car and head to the west suburbs for Thanksgiving #1 and then swing up to Grand Rapids for Thanksgiving #2, and it’s so good to know that I’ll have multiple options around me for a brewery escape if I need one. Maybe next year I’ll round up what’s open on Thanksgiving. Who else might find that handy?

LMK! Probably a pretty short list but you never know.

This week’s emails have cats, giant-murder, cats, barbarians, a reference to cats, and then a couple new labels for classic styles and a couple of weirdo beers too. Fun stuff. Our Premium Subscribers get to see every last one of these; if you want to check it out, you’re more than welcome to join us!

I try to thank you all for being here at least once in every email, but tis’ the season, so thank you, thank you, thank you so much for your interest in these dispatches week in and week out. We’re somehow closing in on ten years of sending beer news your way via email, and your recent support via Substack has really added new life to this whole thing. Very glad to have you on board this little pirate ship. Cheers to you all.

And, programming note: Here is where I tell you that you also shouldn’t expect an events/socials email on Friday this week :) Enjoy your holiday!

The New Illinois Beer Label Of The Week:

Look, if Pipeworks is coming for Off Color’s “regularly features cute animals on their beer labels” crown, I’m ready to cover that battle.
