Happy Wednesday, friends - just two weeks to go until Xmas, for those who celebrate. Have you picked up your celebratory booze and glassware gifts from the grocery store yet?

(The only gifts I ever got for my roommates in my early twenties were bottles of whiskey packaged with branded glassware. I’m assuming I’m not the only one.)

Let’s brown!

The New Illinois Beer Label of the Week:

Y’all know I’m the President of the American Brown Ale Fan Club, so when I saw these two new options submitted from Pipeworks with some fun barrel-aging aspects added to them, I was immediately all about it. Looking forward to giving these a whirl if/when they emerge.

Up next for our Premium Subscribers:

I’m seeing a lot of new and updated lager labels — five are listed below with even more keg rings popping up alongside them. As we head into the slowest beer-drinking season of the year, breweries are going to have more time and tank space to let beers hang out and mature a little bit more than usual. If you see a new bottom-fermented beverage on store shelves over the coming months, pick it up. Might be a nice surprise.
