This Week's New Beer Labels: Perfect Drafts & Long Drinks
Powered by countertop keg dispenser technology
Remember Draftmark? The “draft beer system” you could put in your fridge that pushed A-B beers out of plastic bottles using compressed air? Ten years after we tried it, I guess they’re still trying to make a new version of it happen, as evidenced by…
The New Illinois Beer Label(s) of the Week:
I’ve never seen a PerfectDraft label before these, but apparently the device has been around for a couple of years now. It’s currently retailing for $350 and I’d wager that a device like this gets a big annual boost of attention right around Father’s Day.
This newer product definitely looks cooler than the one I tried a decade ago, but I personally still don’t see why someone would want 16 bottles of beer poured out of one of these vs. just buying a few six packs. At roughly $2 per serving, it’s cheaper than going to the bar for a pour, but otherwise you’re not really saving much money in terms of volume.
That said, the list of beers available in the UK for Perfect Draft is actually pretty compelling: Old Speckled Hen, Leffe, Ninkasi IPA, Kwak … bring those over here and now we’re talking!
Up next for our Premium Subscribers: Making Minocqua in Illinois, multiple green tea-infused drinks, multiple Michigan long drinks, the most predictable Midwestern light lager line extension, and we get to learn about a Franconian festival in a moat.
