Oooh, what you gonna do, brother, when Hulk’s Real American Beer runs wild on you? You better be drinking your milk beer, taking your vitamins, suing publications into nonexistence, apologizing for using racist language and saying your prayers, lil’ Hulksters!
Yeah, there’s a label for a Hulk Hogan branded beer with TWO Midwest connections. So therefore, it’s…
The New Illinois Beer Label of the Week:
Last week, Premium Subscribers saw a version of this beer label that came through from a beermaker in Minnesota, but shortly after we sent that email, the above label also popped up on an Illinois search under Great Central Brewing Company.
The website WhoOwnsMyBeer put together this post, connecting a few dots, but still, kinda rare to see the same label show up the same week from two different places. The products that City Brewing makes are much more in line than the more craft-focused GCBC, but I bet they can still make a fine light lager if that’s what the client wants.
And now, a Bonus IL Label:
As always, we like to show off the first package labels we see from any brewery. Even though they’ve been open for a few years now, these are the first submissions we’ve seen from Lieferbrau Brewery in downstate Red Bud. They also submitted labels for a wit, an Oktoberfest, a vanilla cream ale and vanilla porter, plus a “Vetterbrau” lager, amongst others. Welcome, Lieferbrau!
Premium subscribers get to see the latest Bourbon County barrel-variant label to come through the TTB, plus labels from four breweries I’ve never seen labels from before, and a beer in what I think is going to be the next new GABF-award-eligible beer style. Join us, won’t you?
Before we move on: Due to personal travel, I’m not going to be able to get a social/events email to you on Friday, so consider this your last reminder (from me) about Beer Under Glass! Tickets are still available for the Illinois Craft Beer Week kickoff event with hundreds of breweries and distilleries all in one easy-to-get-to location. Ticket prices support the Guild’s efforts, which in turn, support Illinois breweries, so go check out some breweries you wouldn’t otherwise get to try.
