Welcome to another label Wednesday! I love this week’s leading label because it gives me a reason (no matter how weak) to link to a twelve-year-old Chicago magazine story about lye-preserved fish. As for the labels our Premium Subscribers get to see from around the Midwest this week, we’ve got:
A Chicago-area crocodile,
An Indy emu,
A Minne-llama,
Another “heritage” style lager and another unnecessary line extension,
A beer for barbecue and a beer for … hallucinations, I guess?
A slightly belated pumpkin beer label and thoughts on a great pumpkin beer with a bad label…
…and more! Want to subscribe and see all of these, plus every label from all our emails over the last few months? Awesome! Great idea. Glad to have you aboard. Join us here:

I really love the art on this Obscurity Brewing beer — if I drink a single beer this year with a Super Soaker, a Furby and a Walkman Sport on the label, it’ll be this one — but is lemon-lime and cranberry a nostalgic holiday flavor for people? Is this like a special holiday punch sort of thing?
This wasn’t a flavor my family celebrated with, but then, we also ate lutefisk, so don’t look to me for a fully accurate assessment of popular American holiday flavors.
Now, on to some more monsters and animals:
