This Week's New Beer Labels: Anchovies, Cicadas and BCBS Labels Emerge

They teased us with the OG BCBS a month ago, but now Goose Island has sent through another array of Bourbon County Labels, which will be shared (along with my thoughts, considerations and educated guesswork) exclusively with our Premium Subscribers.
We’ve also got two new non-beer products from two of the biggest Michigan breweries, a cool-looking new collab between big Minnesota and Chicago breweries, plus rainbows, camouflage and what could be the next Ultra Right Beer to hit the market.
It’s only about $1 per week to become a Premium Subscriber and get a peek into the potential future of the Great Lakes beer scene, if you care to join the fun:

The New Illinois Beer Label(s) of the Week:
Interesting to see two labels emerge this week that might make drinkers say “ew.” If you didn’t know that there was a hop varietal named “anchovy” you might be a bit weirded out by a blend of citra hops and salty fish in this Anchovy Paste IPA from MORE Brewing.
(This beer has been in the world for a minute, with MORE confirming that no fishies were used in the brewing process.)
Similarly, putting two big cicadas on a beer label knowing full well that these bugs are going to irritate the shit out of everyone in Chicagoland all summer is straight up ballsy, Tighthead. This one’s brand new, and I’m always in support of additional hefeweizens in the world. Check it out.
