A quick programming note: I am on the road next week, so any updates will be coming from Central Florida. Wish me luck and send recommendations for any Space Coast destinations, please and thank you.
In between now and then, go find a liminal space and have a beer in it, like we did at Haymarket Bridgeman this week. Winter’s done, leaves will be on the trees soon, but for now we’re in the In Between. Embrace it with a brown ale or a porter or a stout of some sort.
Cheers, friends. Here’s what’s happening this weekend and a bit beyond:
Reminder: Only Premium Subscribers are being sent Wednesday label updates via email. Lite Subscribers can click here to see the first labels that we’ve seen from Dryhop Brewers Group in a while. Check ‘em out.
This Friday / Starting Friday:
CHOOM-Con started on Thursday at Hopewell but this “four day trip through the Choomiverse” continues through Sunday.
Whiner Beer hosts a launch party for their Elevator dry-hopped peach saison.
Saturday, April 19:
Kolsch Night returns to Dovetail.
The collaboration-centric Joint Beer Fest returns to Eagle Park Brewing in Milwaukee. Here’s the tap list. Shout out to Vennture for bringing three English milds.
Werk Force Brewing Company hosts a 420ish Humongous Chungus release party with custom Werk Force rolling trays. That’s fun.
Also hosting a 420ish fest all day is Burn’Em Brewing.
Sunday, April 20:
It’s Easter, so, uh … drink a beer that pairs well with ham and Peeps.
Next Week:
April 23: Analytical Brewing in Lexington, IL hosts their own Kolsch service to celebrate German Beer Day.
April 24-26: Attend this year’s Beer Culture Summit, which kicks off Thursday in a Totally Tubular way at Piece Pizza & Brewery. IDK what kind of pizza Robert Zemeckis has come up with but I’m extremely curious to find out.
The event portion of our Friday emails remains free and unrestricted, because we want to give you a reason (or three) to visit a local brewery or beer event every week.
Our Social Updates section is now exclusively for Premium Subscribers. We’re extremely thankful for all your ongoing support. You keep these emails going.
Not a single one of those Action Figure AI photo posts is included in this week’s email. Worry not.
The very first batch of a big-deal, long-awaited new beer is in the world (and we mean world), and it is…
