I recently returned from a trip to Finland and you’ll be shocked to discover that I found more than a few interesting beers while I was over there. Over the course of about ten days I did my fair share of “research” into what I could find at supermarkets and pubs and I’m happy to report my findings: Finland sure seems to love its beer. Specifically? American-style craft beer.
Now, I should say that normally when I travel, I exhaustively search for all sorts of destinations to check out. Restaurants, cocktail bars, taverns, breweries, and everything else that an educated culinary or beverage enthusiast would want to be aware of upon entering a new city. This time I did do a bit of hunting, but since I was traveling with family I knew I wasn’t going to have nearly as much flex time to wander around and make discoveries, so I was going to just have to wing it a bit more than usual.
This brought me straight to the supermarket.
